Processo Maniaci: depone De Chirico, che dice di non essere responsabile del video e di non avere indagato per confermare se le estorsioni erano motivate
Con l’audizione del capitano, oggi maggiore De Chirico, la Procura di Palermo e, nella fattispecie il pm Amelia Luise ha sparato le sue ultime cartucce, nel processo contro Pino Maniaci, ma l’impressione emersa, da quello che ha detto il teste, è quella che si tratta di cartucce a salve.
Ve lo ricordate il video, distribuito a tutte le emittenti nazionali, in cui Pino Maniaci, in bella vista rispetto alle telecamere, riceveva soldi, circa 466 euro dal sindaco di Borgetto? Il video non era solo questo, scendeva in tutta una serie di questioni personali che non avevano nulla di penalmente rilevante, ma che sono servite a distruggere l’immagine di un giornalista da sempre impegnato a combattere la mafia di Partinico e di Borgetto e che invece veniva messo in un unico calderone assieme a una decina di mafiosi borgettani, ai quali era comunque riservato un ruolo di contorno. Ebbene, quel video, secondo la richiesta della Procura, non dovrebbe far parte del processo, era qualcosa tanto per scherzare sulla pelle di una persona. Forse si vuole evitare che possa venir fuori la modalità e le intenzioni con cui è stato predisposto questo atto d’accusa pubblico, ma non processuale.
Chi ha confezionato quel video? Il capitano De Chirico ha affermato che non è stato lui, che non ne sapeva niente, ma che è stato il comando provinciale. Non ne sapeva niente: c’è da dubitarne o no?
E ve lo ricordate il sindaco e il vicesindaco di Borgetto? Il capitano ha detto che nei loro confronti era stato chiesta una misura cautelare, ma che la Procura ha archiviato la richiesta, mentre il TAR e il prefetto hanno invece disposto lo scioglimento del comune essendo lampanti le infiltrazioni mafiose: ma come? Se il sindaco non c’entrava niente, perché mandarlo a casa, e se invece c’entrava, perché non indagarlo o arrestarlo, come chiedeva il capitano? Sembra che ci sia stata una sorta d’accordo: tu sindaco sostieni la mia linea di accusa contro Maniaci e noi ti lasciamo libero. Ma questa è solo un’ipotesi comunque indimostrabile.
Ma sembra venir meno tutta l’impostazione processuale, di fronte a una ben precisa domanda avanzata dalla difesa: se Maniaci ha fatto la sua estorsione in cambio di un ammorbidimento dei suoi attacchi nei confronti dei sindaci di Borgetto e di Partinico, esiste un preciso riscontro? È stato chiesto al capitano-maggiore se erano state fatte indagini e se era in grado di esibire prove e registrazioni di questo presunto cambio di linea dell’emittente alla base dell’estorsione, ma la risposta dell’investigatore è stata disarmante; non era in grado di produrre niente perché non si era adeguatamente indagato. In realtà perché non c’era e non ci poteva essere niente.
Conclusione: tanto rumore per nulla, mentre ricompare su questa triste vicenda con la quale la Procura ha cercato di sbarazzarsi del “cane rabbioso”, la longa manus della Saguto e dei suoi maneggi sotterranei che volevano sbarazzarsi di una emittente che aveva messo a nudo il suo scandaloso modo di operare con le misure di prevenzione e i sequestri.
Prossima udienza il 5 luglio, nel corso di questa verrà ascoltato Pino Maniaci.
