L’oro di Cosa nostra, a Palermo maxi sequestro di oltre 15 milioni e 17 indagati
La Guardia di Finanza sequestra imprese di compro oro, conti, immobili e beni aziendali
La Guardia di Finanza – nell’ambito dell’inchiesta originata dal presunto riciclaggio di metalli preziosi di provenienza illecita nel mandamento mafioso di Porta Nuova a Palermo – sta procedendo all’esecuzione del sequestro preventivo d’urgenza, emesso dalla Procura della Repubblica di Palermo – Direzione Distrettuale Antimafia, nei confronti di 17 soggetti. Sono indiziati del reato di riciclaggio aggravato. Oggetto del provvedimento sono 2 imprese compro oro, 10 rapporti finanziari, nonché denaro, beni mobili iscritti in pubblici registri, immobili, beni mobili e aziende, sino alla concorrenza di oltre 15 milioni di euro.
L’attività investigativa – coordinata dalla Direzione Distrettuale Antimafia della Procura della Repubblica di Palermo – condotta attraverso l’approfondimento di segnalazioni di operazioni sospette e mediante approfondite indagini finanziarie – prosecuzione della recente inchiesta sulle infiltrazioni di cosa nostra nel settore del commercio di metalli preziosi – avrebbe fatto emergere un ulteriore meccanismo di riciclaggio, adottato nel corso dell’ultimo anno, ancora più insidioso di quello precedentemente utilizzato, posto in essere al fine di ridurre la possibilità di ricondurre gli illeciti commessi a coloro che ne sarebbero gli effettivi responsabili.
In particolare, il sistema di riciclaggio si sarebbe realizzato attraverso due nuove imprese esercenti l’attività di “compro oro”, che sarebbero state interposte al fine di non far più comparire nelle operazioni di compravendita dell’oro la società al centro dell’inchiesta, che avrebbe però continuato ad agire da collettore di grandi quantità di oro di provenienza delittuosa.
Le indagini hanno fatto emergere anche il coinvolgimento di almeno 11 persone che avrebbero svolto l’attività di “prelevatori”. Quest’ultimi si sarebbero messi a disposizione del titolare di una delle due imprese sottoposte a sequestro aprendo rapporti di conto poi utilizzati per ricevere il denaro provento delle presunte illecite operazioni di cessione di oro. Gli originari flussi finanziari sarebbe stati così ripartiti in molteplici direzioni, anche attraverso successivi trasferimenti intercorsi tra le stesse 11 persone, le quali si sarebbero poi recate presso gli uffici/sportelli postali a effettuare i prelievi del denaro ricevuto per, infine, farlo pervenire in contanti ai titolari della società al centro dell’inchiesta.
Nel corso degli ultimi 12 mesi, sarebbero state fatturate, complessivamente, cessioni di oro d’illecita provenienza per oltre 15 milioni di euro.
