Confiscati beni per 2 mln a Stefano Polizzi, “reggente” di Bolognetta

Secondo una notizia ANSA, riportata anche da Antimafia Duemila 11 Marzo 2023 i carabinieri del nucleo investigativo di Palermo hanno eseguito un provvedimento di confisca di 2 milioni di euro emesso dalla sezione misure di prevenzione del tribunale di Palermo nei confronti di Stefano Polizzi, palermitano di 67 anni. Il sequestro, già eseguito nel 2013, oggi dopo dieci anni è diventato confisca con la sentenza della Corte di cassazione e il provvedimento è diventato irrevocabile.

Polizzi non è nuovo alle patrie galere: è stato arrestato ad aprile del 2012, nell’ambito dell’operazione denominata “Sisma”, con l’accusa di aver commesso due tentate estorsioni aggravate e di essere vicino ai vertici della famiglia mafiosa di Misilmeri: è stato condannato a 4 anni di reclusione. Sentenza diventata irrevocabile a marzo del 2017. Attualmente è detenuto a Santa Maria Capua Venere, perché è stato nuovamente arrestato nel novembre del 2018 nell’operazione “Cupola 2.0”:  secondo gli investigatori ricopriva il ruolo di reggente della famiglia mafiosa di Bolognetta, ed è stato condannato in primo grado a 17 anni di reclusione. Sono stati confiscati: due imprese a Bolognetta nel settore edile, un immobile a Bolognetta, una quota di un panificio a Marineo, un immobile a Marineo, 5 appezzamenti di terreno a Bolognetta, un’abitazione rurale a Bolognetta, 8 automezzi e 8 rapporti bancari.

Ci siamo occupati di Stefano Polizzi nel libro “In nome dell’Antimafia”, in relazione al sequestro dei beni dei Virga di Marineo, da noi definiti “Paperoni senza dollari”, poiché erano stati attribuiti loro beni per un miliardo e seicento milioni, cifra ben al di là della loro reale situazione patrimoniale. Quello che ha lasciato domande e perplessità è che da circa quasi dieci anni Gaetano Virga collabora con la giustizia e ha presentato numerose denunce contro vari tentativi di estorsione. Le sue testimonianze hanno consentito di arrestare 5 persone ritenute i capimafia e gli esattori di Marineo. L’operazione dei carabinieri, nel corso della quale finirono in manette Francesco Lo Gerfo, ritenuto il capomafia di Marineo, e Stefano Polizzi, presunto estorsore, portò anche allo scioglimento per infiltrazioni mafiose del Comune di Marineo. Nel 2010, tra maggio e novembre, Polizzi avrebbe chiesto il pizzo a Gaetano Virga minacciandolo: «Ricordati che hai dei figli»,  aggiungendo che «quando Polizzi è venuto nei nostri uffici ha affrontato mio zio molto animatamente. Li ho visti discutere da una finestra all’interno della nostra azienda a Marineo. Nella zona tutti sapevano quello che faceva Polizzi. Mio zio l’ha mandato via dicendogli che non avrebbe avuto un centesimo, ma si è ripresentato successivamente». Virga da quel momento aveva fatto una coraggiosa scelta, diventando un punto di riferimento per gli imprenditori che rifiutavano di pagare il pizzo e ottenendo il sostegno di associazioni come Addio Pizzo, Libero Futuro e Fai. Nel processo contro Polizzi, dal quale uscì assolto, e in altri 5 processi è stato assistito da Addio Pizzo, ma tutto ciò non gli ha evitato il sequestro dei beni e il dissesto delle aziende di famiglia. Quello che ha lasciato domande e perplessità è che da circa sei anni Gaetano Virga collabora con la giustizia e ha presentato numerose denunce contro vari tentativi di estorsione. Le sue testimonianze hanno consentito di arrestare 5 persone ritenute i capimafia e gli esattori di Marineo. L’operazione dei carabinieri, nel corso della quale finirono in manette Francesco Lo Gerfo, ritenuto il capomafia di Marineo, e Stefano Polizzi, presunto estorsore, portò anche allo scioglimento per infiltrazioni mafiose del Comune di Marineo. Il 3 giugno 2021 sono stati restituiti ai Virga gran parte dei beni sequestrati,  dei quali era rimasto ben poco. Adesso le parti si sono invertite e a Polizzi è stato tolto tutto, anche la libertà di fare il boss in un vasto territorio che si estende da Marineo, a Misilmeri, a Bolognetta, con qualche diramazione anche nel corleonese.

Fra l’altro il sequestro segue di qualche giorno quello dei beni di Tommaso Lo Presti, boss di Porta Nuova, soprannominato “U Pacchiuni”, per un ammontare di 500 mila euro.
