Lettera aperta al direttore di Domani, Stefano Feltri
Egregio Direttore, avevo già inviato questa lettera per vederla pubblicata sull’editoriale Domani in replica all’articolo dell’illustre Attilio Bolzoni sulla docuserie “Vendetta”. Le ho tentate tutte: l’ho inviata all’email della redazione (lettori@editorialedomani.it), all’email della segreteria (segreteria@editorialedomani.it), e infine al suo indirizzo di posta elettronica che, però, risulta pieno. Niente da fare. Capisco che non posso competere con certi mostri sacri del giornalismo ma pubblicare anche il punto di vista di chi ha vissuto, sulla propria pelle, la gogna dei colleghi che ancora si divertono a fare gli psicologi, sarebbe cosa buona e giusta. Prendo atto della mancata pubblicazione della lettera da parte del giornale da Lei diretto, e provvedo a divulgarla ugualmente attraverso i canali dell’emittente Telejato.
Aggiornamento di redazione del 14 ottobre 2021: la lettera è stata pubblicata il 9 ottobre 2021 sulla versione cartacea dell’editoriale “Domani”, senza che nessuno della redazione ne fosse a conoscenza. Oggi è stata pubblicata anche sul sito web della testata, dove era già presente, dal 5 ottobre 2021, l’articolo di Bolzoni.
Ecco il testo integrale della lettera:
Egregio Direttore,
in merito all’articolo di Attilio Bolzoni sulla docuserie “Vendetta”, trasmessa da Netflix, mi permetto di fare qualche osservazione. Sappiamo entrambi, io per avere praticato il mestiere di giornalista da dilettante, con pochi mezzi e con molte buone intenzioni, Bolzoni per averlo fatto da professionista serio e puntuale, che quando si vuole dimostrare una tesi, basta individuare, nel contesto che caratterizza un evento, tutti gli elementi utili a confermare la bontà della tesi e a scartare quelli che invece potrebbero contraddirla e così la polpetta è confezionata. Sappiamo anche quanto poco corretto, ma efficace sia questo metodo. Quello che ha cercato di dimostrare Bolzoni non sfugge a questa chiave di lettura e non rende giustizia alla vera immagine di Pino Maniaci o a quella di Silvana Saguto, poiché confeziona il giudizio sulle persone basandosi su quello che mostra la fiction e non sulla realtà. È vero che la troupe che ha confezionato il prodotto è rimasta intere giornate negli studi di Telejato e, per quel che si nota, anche a casa della Saguto, girando ore e ore di filmati, ma alla fine, nel montaggio, sono state selezionate quelle scene utili a dimostrare l’assunto di partenza, ovvero lo scontro, tra due personalità “complementari”, secondo le regole che rendono appetibile e commerciabile un prodotto di questo tipo. Spiace che Bolzoni sia caduto anche lui nella prospettiva ideata da chi ha confezionato il prodotto mediatico.
Nella realtà non c’è alcuna complementarietà tra Maniaci e la Saguto: uno è il povero responsabile di una scalcagnata emittente, forse la più piccola del mondo, che trasmette da un paese, Partinico, dove è nata la prima radio libera nel 1970, per iniziativa di Danilo Dolci, a due passi da Terrasini, dove sette anni dopo Peppino Impastato diffondeva il messaggio della sua controinformazione, rispetto all’informazione omogeneizzata del giornalismo italiano. Due esempi che mi sono stati sempre di riferimento nei miei vent’anni di attività. L’altra è quella che Caselli definiva “la signora più potente di Palermo”, corteggiata e osannata come la vera “icona” dell’antimafia da tutti quelli che dell’antimafia hanno fatto un’immagine e un “sistema” di personale garanzia esistenziale. Non credo di avere proprio nulla da spartire con questa signora spregiudicata, che per sua ammissione ha dato il via a una stagione indiscriminata di sequestri mettendo in ginocchio il poco che rimaneva della fragile economia siciliana. Non so quale specularità possa esserci e non accetto questi confronti, poiché la mia correttezza, con tutte le sue possibili deviazioni è ben poca cosa rispetto al gigantesco e criminale giro di affari gestito dalla Saguto e dalla sua banda di amministratori giudiziari e amici scritti nell’agendina. Io sono stato assolto dall’accusa di ricatto e di estorsione, si noti, per 366 euro, lei si è permessa di ricattare durante il processo tutti i suoi colleghi, esibendo la famosa agendina, senza che nessuno gli contestasse queste larvate minacce.
MI pare che si voglia mettere assieme il diavolo e l’acqua santa, sulla base di immagini parziali, presupponendo che queste siano espressione di tutta la realtà. In verità oltre quelle immagini c’è ben altro, c’è un quotidiano lavoro che mi consente appena di pagare le spese di gestione dell’emittente, c’è una serie di rapporti umani e sociali con i telespettatori, c’è soprattutto, e questo non emerge, se non da un brevissimo passaggio, la collaborazione con ragazzi e con altri che dall’emittente sono passati offrendo il proprio contributo e acquisendo esperienze.
In fondo a tutta questa vicenda il punto di fondo, quasi ignorato nella fiction, è quello di una battaglia, ancora appena all’inizio, per una revisione del sistema e della legge sulle misure di prevenzione, nato in un momento di emergenza, sulla base di proposte che da tempo abbiamo indicato senza che nessuno le abbia prese in considerazione. La narrazione di tutta questa vicenda non è quella che è stata messa in onda nella fiction, ma quella che Salvo Vitale ha descritto nel suo recente libro “In nome dell’Antimafia”, del quale mi permetto di consigliare la lettura al “collega” Bolzoni, del quale è indiscutibile la sua competenza di storico dei fenomeni mafiosi, un po’ meno quella di psicologo, come tenta di fare nel suo articolo.
