Cinisi. Addio a Gaspare Cucinella, compagno di Peppino Impastato
A Cinisi, mentre il carnevale impazza, è morto Gaspare Cucinella, un’autentica maschera pirandelliana, rispetto alla quale quelle che si vedono in giro sembrano lontanissime e banali imitazioni.
Aveva passato da qualche anno i 90 anni, soffriva di disturbi alla vista e all’udito, ma fino a pochi mesi fa non ha smesso di scrivere i suoi versi che, in tante occasioni ha recitato con la sua raffinata maestria di attore. Anzi, più che un attore potremmo definirlo un giullare, come tanti altri esempi italiani, da Dario Fo a Benigni, capaci di fare ridere anche con versi gutturali, con scilinguagnoli, con gesti e smorfie ed esibizioni caratteristiche. Il teatro rimase sempre la sua segreta passione e, pur non avendo trovato la grande occasione che lo lanciasse su scala nazionale, fu uno dei più attivi protagonisti della “Compagnia del sarto”, assieme al grande Franco Scaldati. Memorabile la loro interpretazione de “Il pozzo dei pazzi”. Nel cinema solo poche e veloci apparizioni, come quella in Johnny Stecchino, quella ne “I cento passi” e in qualche altro film di successo. L’altro suo amore segreto, ma non tanto, è stato la poesia. Dai tempi di Giovanni Meli Cinisi non ricordava versi in dialetto così profondi, così ricchi di messaggi, di immagini, di termini, di momenti, di persone, di ambienti, quasi scordati.
Di lui ci restano alcune registrazioni, un filmato che Paolo Chirco ha realizzato qualche anno fa, allorché gli è stato reso un doveroso omaggio nel corso delle iniziative per l’anniversario della morte di Peppino Impastato, di cui Gaspare fu grande amico, e un volumetto di poesie sistemate e trascritte al computer da chi sta scrivendo e pubblicate dall’editore Coppola, anche lui recentemente scomparso. Il resto, a parte qualche ultima cosa, è pronto per una pubblicazione che il comune di Cinisi dovrebbe farsi carico, con orgoglio, di promuovere: la cosa costerebbe qualche centinaio di euro, ma abbiamo forti dubbi che possa essere fatta. Il carnevale vale più della cultura.
In questa sua poesia Gaspare, con poche battute, descrive i passaggi più importanti della sua vita e la sua identità:

U pitittu l’arrunzava,

e me patri mi scriveva:

ma travagghiu u nni truvavu.
Me patri mi campava,
ma u teatru a mia aspittava,
mi chiamava ogni mumentu,

e abbrazzava tuttu u munnu.
